Black
American History is a fascinating subject often glossed over by many travel
agencies. Blues, Gospel, Sports, Science. We take special delight in showing
visitors from overseas the Soul Side of the Windy City. Learn about how
Black Chicagoans created their own society, Bronzeville, during the period
of Jim Crow (segregation) laws. See how we played, worked worshiped and
contributed to the growth of the City, the Country and the World and how
things have changed. We’ll take you past the location of the first
successful open hear surgery conducted by a Black man in 1893 and the
offices of Ariel Capital Management, a USD$12Billion investment management
firm. If you have time, let us invite you to be our special guest on Sunday
to hear some REAL gospel singing.
We annually provide services for a group of teachers from Japan
and have entertained groups from Germany and France as well.
In the words of a participant from one of the German Motorola groups:
“Church much Good!”
