“I do want to personally thank you for planning and coordinating
our activities for our “AWE-SOME” girls’ visit in June.”
It had a more cultural flair instead of all the customary tourism activities.
I hope our “AWE-SOME” girls will catch your entrepreneur spirit.

It’s important for children to understand history, especially
history that they might not be familiar with or that relates specifically
to them. Of course, they need a healthy dose of entertainment to help
the education go down. Our Soul Side of the Windy City Tour combines important
historical and cultural sites like the DuSable Museum, Defender Newspaper,
the Ebony and Jet Magazine, Monument to the Great Migration
and Jesse Owens’ grave site, Michael Jordan’s statue, and
Oprah Winfrey’s studio. We also leave time for the young ladies
to go shopping and the young men to play video games. Food? Of course!
We have a couple of phenomenal Black establishments in our hip pocket
that you can’t miss.
Special
Programming
The Practicum on Black history in Chicago and specially developed long-distance
tours have helped scouts achieve credits toward badge requirements. Our
Niagara Falls tour helped two Girl Scouts from Troop 1570 achieve their
Golden Award—the highest award in Girl Scouting!
Our services have also been utilized by city and state youth organizations,
DHS and other federally funded youth programs, YMCAs, YWCAs, Park Districts,
Summer Camps, Child-Parent Center, Public & Private Schools, Federally-funded
Youth Programs, and Trio Programs.
